If you’ve been considering blogging but don’t know what to do or how to go about it, this page will give you a good starting point.

Quick and Easy
The first way to go about getting a blog is to simply sign up with a blogging service like blogger or wordpress and get your blog account. Setting up a blog this way is fast and not too difficult to do. Services like these are very inexpensive and not too complicated to use. Often times, they simply require you to create an account by registering an email address and some information and you are provided with a login and a control panel to edit and add blog posts.

Added on an Existing Website
Another method of obtaining your own blog is to bolt it onto your existing website. This method is more difficult but, in my opinion, the results are far greater. Let’s consider some of them.
First, When signing up for a blog account with a free service, one exchanges ease of use for domain recognition. What do I mean? Well, the domain that has the blog on it gets credit for the information in the blog. So, if you have a website at www.yourdomain.com, and you sign up for a blog at www.someblogservice.com, your site is not benefiting like it could be. Just my opinion, but I believe it enough to have my blog set up this way.

Another reason I prefer to have my blogs on my own domains is that it increases the value of the domain on which the blog is placed. As the domain ages, it builds a history that is attached to the subject matter of the blog. This association is beneficial if the owner of the blog decides to sell the domain, the site, or both.

Finally, if the blog resides on a domain with a website, it can be integrated with design of the website. This is invaluable in the sense that the appearance of the blog can be tailored to seamlessly mesh with the overall site appearance.

Blog Installs
I do provide blog installs and Wordpress theming services. I handle each case individually and pricing is determined by the size of the job. If you do not have a website and would like to get more information on a website with a built in blog, feel free to contact me
