The folks over at Tall Timber Shows asked if I could rework a couple of splash pages. Since the Branson entertainment company has several lumberjack shows, they wanted these redesigned web pages to be action oriented, yet still allow visitors to distinguish between the various differences in the shows offered. The two main areas that I re-worked are discussed below.

Traveling Show Splash Page
This section serves as a place in the website for interested event planners to research information about booking a lumberjack show tuned to a specific event whether it is a county or state fair, corporate party, or some other outdoor attraction. Tall Timber Shows wanted the page to be simple but colorful and send a message with impact for their traveling lumberjack show.

Lumberjack Shows Home Page
The same basic concepts were considered for the redesign of the website home page. Since all of Tall Timber’s shows feature lumberjacks They keep all their site content on one website. The home page serves as a table of contents and hopefully pumps visitors up about this unique Branson dinner show.

WOWDezign sample done with photoshop.Up to now most of my design work was web stuff. Because of this, I couldn’t bring myself to fork over all the money it would take to get good software for print design work.

I finally got to the point where I had enough clients requesting print designs I decided I should upgrade my existing Adobe web software to incorporate the print software as well. Boy am I ever glad I did!

I have never worked in Photoshop or Illustrator in the past but I am really starting to like them both. Add the new features of Flash CS3 and I can’t stop being amazed at what can be done with this suite.

I’m sure that after I get the hang of where the tools are I’ll have even better graphics to put in my graphic design portfolio.

Well, that’s it. I just wanted to post to show I am still attending to this site and the blog hasn’t been abandoned. I’ve just been really busy lately.

Take care.
