Well, many months ago I posted that I would be postponing my training program. I did this for more than one reason. I’ll explain those reasons, and then I’ll get to the point of this post.

I held off on the training program because of multiple factors. First, I tend to explain things in detail (some might even say that I over-explain) when I teach. Since this is the case, my files ended up being quite large. Since my goal is to help people learn at a reasonable price, I couldn’t afford to buy more server space to post the videos without charging for the videos. After all, many would agree that free is the most reasonable price for many.

I would have went ahead and charged a nominal fee for the tutorials if it were not for the second reason for the postponement. The work involved in setting up a download and purchase system for video tutorials would take more time than I wanted to commit to the idea.

As a result, I decided to hold off on the training program and patiently wait for other opportunities to get the training out there.

Training Program Back

I just happened to come across a website that allows it’s users to upload videos for free. I thought, hey this is good, after all, I am one of those that appreciates “free” stuff.

So I began uploading the tutorials I had from the inception of the idea. So there you have it. The training program is revived, although it cannot be found on this website.

While the front-end is done, the back-end will be an on-going process. Eventually, I plan to have a members area to the site that will have additional information and functionality available to my clients.

Well, that’s all I have time for right now. Got to get some rest so I can get up tomorrow and finish up a couple of projects for clients.

With the real estate market struggling in some areas of the country the need for good research becomes even more imperative. Many online tools have been developed in the past to assist home buyers in finding the perfect home for their situation. And now there is a new tool that will prove to be very beneficial to anyone shopping for a St. Louis Condo.

The site has been live for just about a month and features a very handy set of tools to support a variety of condo searching methods. With its interactive search, a condo hunter can choose a landmark (like Anheuser Busch) and search for condos near that location. Too, the shopper can filter out condos through a number of parameters. This allows for a very thorough look at condos in the St. Louis area.

Another new site launch to announce:

Lakes Area Carpet Care is a Branson carpet cleaners website that was just launched earlier today. This cleaning company is family owned and has been owned and operated by the current owners for over 20 years. LACC (Lakes Area Carpet Care) offers home and commercial services.

I learned quite a bit about carpet care from this site build. One feature I really appreciate is the quick tips box in the right sidebar.

One thing I would recommend, is watching the video that is embedded as well. It really highlights what to look out for when choosing carpet cleaning services.

As for the site design, it was selected by the site owner from a group of four custom designs.

It seems like every post I make nowadays is a new site announcement. I really will be posting interesting information in the future. I have intentions of creating articles, and perhaps even posts that talk about various HTML, CSS, Actionscript 3.0, and PHP techniques. The problem however, is that I have been extremely busy lately. Hence, this site launch announcement is being posted on a Saturday even though it was launched about 3-5 days ago.

The new site is called Commrecial One Brokers. The site owners had an existing website, but wanted something different from what they had. After meeting with them and their marketing specialist, I determined that they were looking for a design with a corporate, professional feel and that would match their logo colors.

The site is now live and has been checked in all the major browsers for consistent rendering.

The site overhaul for the Sunset Nightly Rentals website is complete. This redesign wasn’t too bad. Some minor changes to color, added a Flash slideshow and some new button and tab graphics to soften the color scheme a touch. The previous design had more contrast and the site owner felt it was a little too harsh.

The functionality was not changed too much, other than the fact that we converted it from ASP over to PHP. The challenge though was that the owner did not want to sacrifice authority or rankings during the switch. I’ll take this time to state that it is critical that you choose a designer/developer that understands search engines before you have a site redesigned.

There are potential pitfalls that go along with redesigns and if you have a productive site that needs freshened-up, you don’t want to lose the productivity just to make it look a little better.

While I’ve been very busy this year with new sites. It seems as though I haven’t made many new site launches. That’s primarily because the clients wanted to be sure everything was all set before giving the go ahead to launch. Which is a benefit to working with a local designer. Often times, large design firms do not always give you as much “tweaking time” as you might like.

Anyway, enough about that. I have two new sites to announce but I’ll only announce one in this post.

Are you looking for a spa to visit while on your trip to Branson? If so, you might want to checkout Aspire Medical Spa, adjacent to the Branson Landing, this Branson spa is very convenient for visitors staying or touring the downtown area.

This project was basically a redesign, but since the owners of the spa want to change the colors and add a Flash intro to the site, I figured I would just do a complete rebuild.

The site got a new Flash introduction that tells what the business is all about, tranformations. The design got transformed to a deeper, richer color pallet with more vibrance.

An admin area was added to give the Aspire staff the ability to not only edit their own website pages, but also to create and schedule newsletters to be sent via email to all client that choose to opt in to the program.

The entire site custom built to the specifications of the business owners!

Just a note to state that I am still working. In fact, I am busier this year than the the couple of years. I should have some new sites to post in the near future.

The main reason for my not posting is that I have been busy with about 7-10 sites. Most of them are relatively simple ones, but the client(s) usually like them to be just right before they go live.

Also, a couple of these sites are pretty involved web applications designed for a unique purpose. Because of their originality, I agreed not to talk about what they do until they are launched. As a result, I cannot promote them yet.

At any rate, I anticipate launching a couple of new sites in the coming weeks and even more in the months ahead.
